Important Updates for the 2026-2027 Year at WAVA

Homeroom Has Changed at WAVA High School!

  • This year, Homeroom is more than a weekly check-in - it is a credit-bearing part of your WAVA High School experience.

  • Homeroom is designed to help students stay connected, stay informed, and stay on track toward graduation.

  • Students can now earn .25 elective credit each semester for successfully completing Homeroom.

  • Attend Homeroom Mondays at 8:30 a.m.

  • Complete the weekly Homeroom assignment in Canvas

  • Complete monthly conferences with your Homeroom teacher

  • Complete required interim testing (if applicable)

  • Homeroom will also provide dedicated time and support to work on your High School & Beyond Plan (HSBP) - a Washington State graduation requirement. Your Homeroom teacher will help you make steady progress on your plan throughout high school, so you don't have to tackle it all at once. Complete your High School & Beyond Plan and earn an additional .5 credit!

  • Regular Homeroom participation helps students stay connected to school, meet WAVA's weekly contact expectations, and keep important graduation requirements on track.

  • START YOUR WEEK CONNECTED.Monday • 8:30 a.m. • WAVA High School Homeroom

  • Check your Homeroom course in Canvas for weekly information and assignments.
